New AVA Proposed in New Jersey – The Cape May Peninsula

Notice No. 161: Proposed Establishment of the Cape May Peninsula Viticultural Area

The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) proposes to establish the 126,635-acre “Cape May Peninsula” viticultural area in Cape May and Cumberland Counties, New Jersey. The proposed viticultural area lies qfactsava1entirely within the Outer Coastal Plain viticultural area. TTB designates viticultural areas to allow vintners to better describe the origin of their wines and to allow consumers to better identify wines they may purchase. TTB invites comments on this proposed addition to its regulations.

Comments must be received by November 7, 2016.
